A noble desire to keep boys from impoverished families off the beaches and resultant antisocial mischief brought a novel idea to Ebin Rose, State football player, who along with Patrick Sisupalan, a visiting expatriate UK coach, started kicking the ball with boys on the beach, teaching game techniques.
And the Kovalam Football Club was born, registered as a charitable society: T1544/10, meriting affiliations to All India Football Federation and Kerala Football Association, and recognition by Kerala Youth Welfare Board and the Government of India's Nehru Yuva Kendra.
In 2017, KovalamFC partnered with M/S Educational Trust, Kovalam and changed his mission to "Empowering impoverished coastal families by educating their children."
Our Senior Team of 24 is capable of challenging any team. They have had more than a few impeccable performances. The team is all set to participated in Kerala Premiere League and got elevated to ELITE Division. Our goal is to participate in either Second Division of the I-League or in the League itself.
These 25 players have been together as a family for the past several years, developing a chemistry that enables coaches to synchronize their individual style of play into a team effort and in-still in them the philosophy of the Club. Many have represented State, University and District teams and made it to State and Indian National team camps.
Encouraged by the success of our experiment in partnership with TEDDYBUDDIES and Trivandrum International School,
we invite you to join our campaign to popularize the football grass root concept, not yet tried anywhere in India.
Following the Arsenal (UK) curriculum, our Coaches specially trained by theirs teach young children from the age of four the
basics of football in a friendly and professional way that generates an interest in the game.
Our Plan is to create coaching hubs in three preschools having adequate play ground, each one covering other schools
in the vicinity. Our Coach will visit the centers twice a week for training your kinder wards.
Our coaches will identify talented children, focus on training them and form a pool of enthusiastic young players,
who will be encouraged to attend our weekend Development Center in Central Stadium for advanced training.
The best ones from the Development Center will be offered admission in our Residential Academy for intense training.
We understand the importance of grassroots development in creating a talent pool to feed our club teams and even other professional club teams. Our coaches start with preschoolers, training them from the age of four. Those children who show genuine enthusiasm and inherent talent will be absorbed in our Academy at the age of seven for advanced training. Those with continued interest will be admitted at age 12 in our Residential Academy for intensive training.
Nearly 150 boys and girls receive personalized expert coaching every Saturday and Sunday afternoon in Central Stadium. This is the only program where we charge a fee structured around actual cost with no profit to KovalamFC. Our Arumanoor center has residential camps every weekend and holidays.
